Trolls apart, is it me alone who thinks that Edward Woodward has brought some much needed corporate discipline, efficiency and even more importantly a professional brain in the Man United backroom? This is not to say that David Gill was, in any way, a lesser CEO, but the way Woodward has gone about making amends for the summer debacle speaks volumes about how he has demonstrated the ability to swallow pride, get his head down and start grafting. Beginning from January he has pulled off right transfers after right transfers, demonstrated incredible tact during the Mata negotiations, and now he is pulling off some good deals, even if they are a little overpriced. And on the topic of overpriced players, its great to have someone at the helm who is ready to accept the way of the day and pay the extra couple of millions to get the right man to make the team better. As for the umpteen trolls at he signing sponsorship deals like anything last season, they certainly look shrewd in the hindsight, dont they, since were out of Europe this season, well need those extra pounds to fund our requisitions and fuel our ambitions. The guy might not have a footballing background, but is one hell of a corporate. Since Football is more a business than a sport these days, it does us incredibly good to have a businessman heading the club.
