Tropical Storm Arthur is still spinning its wheels east of Florida. The storm is forecast to intensify to hurricane strength as it heads north and then northeast over the next couple of days, passing over or very close to the North Carolina coast some time from Thursday afternoon into Friday morning. Interests along the coast all the way up to southeast Virginia should pay close attention to its progress. Up NJ/NYC/CT way...we could see indirect impacts. Several inches of rain are possible Thursday into Friday morning as associated moisture interacts with a nearby cold front, then potential for dangerous rip currents as Arthur churns up the seas while passing well to the southeast.
