Tropical update: Chantal has officially become a tropical storm - TopicsExpress

Tropical update: Chantal has officially become a tropical storm well east of the Virgin Islands last night with 40 mph. She is currently moving northwestward toward the Hispaniola by Wednesday. Tropical warnings issued for parts of the Leeward Islands and Puerto Rico is under a tropical storm watch. Chantal is expected to maintain its tropical storm status for the next couple of days, but may become a weak hurricane before hit the Hispaniola midweek. Now the question is where is Chantal headed later this week into the weekend?? As of now the weather models suggest Chantal may go over the mountainous of Cuba then east coast of Florida this weekend. Stay tuned for the update.
