Troubleshooting time. Our dryer (I think) is causing weird electrical issues in our house. The dryer has to be ON for half the lights in the house, the AC units in 3 rooms, the oven or half the wall outlets to work! No circuit breakers are popping and any variation of resetting them has had no effect, nor has unplugging the damned dryer. With the dryer OFF, everything is reversed.... All the things that worked with it on are now off (as if by circuit breaker) and things that were not working are now working. This causes no change in the circuit breaker positions though which is so weird to me since this seems like a pretty clear electrical issue (albeit one that knows no breaker unit bounds). In BOTH situations the AC units only stay on for almost exactly 3 min intervals and the clocks reset, telling me that power is resetting at those intervals... And that detail is with the dryer on or off. Its really late and we want to sleep but its 600,000 degrees. Certain things work in both settings too and as far as we can tell, there is no correlation between circuit breaker jurisdiction or whatever you want to call it. Oh yea, and when the dryer is on, its tossing the clothes around but not producing any heat. I feel like our electric system is haunted by demons. Furthermore, this is not happening for our neighbors who are on the same grid as us. I think its the dryer, right? But does that means its caused irreversible damage if unplugging it has had no effect? These issues started after the dryer was on for maybe 5-10 min.
