Troy McManus and I buttoned down 28 stages for USPSA Nationals - TopicsExpress

Troy McManus and I buttoned down 28 stages for USPSA Nationals over the last 2 days. Its a pleasure working with him. And thats a lot of stages! Im excited by the stages, which I think are even better than last year - super fun but challenging for the best shooters in the world. Jim Meade did a masterful job designing all the stages, big kudos to him! As usual, we have so many great volunteers that have helped. Im reluctant to attempt to name them all, cause Ill forget somebody... but one stands out though - Bob Wolf, who personally managed the erection of all structures. That is 280 new walls, custom platforms, shoot house additions, several modular platforms, and a lot of custom trim and painting. Hes been at it for weeks, which is necessary for a match of this size and complexity. As always, the Purgatory Jail work crew played a significant part. Its been a pleasure working with them as they advance towards reentry to regular life. I divide match setup into structure, target/steel delivery, target set, button (nail, sticks), stage safety (fault lines, safe tables, RO stations), and shooter comfort (shade, tables, chairs where appropriate, vendor, concessions and food court). Tomorrow is shooter comfort day. Sunday registration for the Mon-Wed schedule. Weve had 846 applications and I expect between the two schedules to be somewhere around 680 to 700 depending on walk-ons for the early schedule.
