Truck ban to start on September Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella announced that there will be a new regulation on sugar cane trucks on September 1, a press release from City Hall said. It said the ban will prohibit sugar cane trucks from entering the major streets of Bacolod City starting 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.. In a press conference held at the Bacolod City Government Center yesterday Puentevella gave notice to truck owners and drivers about the ban, saying that no trucks should enter the streets of Bacolod during the time mentioned, the press release said. He also told the media about his meetings with Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson and the department accomplished feasibility study on the 22-kilometer Outer Circumferential Road, Sum-ag to Silay, the “Sugar Road”. Puentevella said the final report on the feasibility study of the DPWH will be submitted to President Aquino and they will invite him to formally open the Sugar Road just in time for MassKara, the press release said. He also followed up the Professional Regulation Commission on his request to have a satellite office in the city, the press release added.*
