Trucker story When I was over on the coast I went to work for Parker Refrigerated truck lines out of Fife. I was the only driver they would trust to haul swinging meat. In those day they had special build trailers called “ railer “ the name is for the rails that went from front to back of the trailer on the ceilings. From theses raisl they would hang sides of beef, which would raise the center of gravity in the trailer for the meat would be a bout 3 or 4 ft above the floor. I use to load at Washington Beef in Toppinish , Wa and take it down Flying Rocking Horse Meat Co. in Yreaka on the Northern California coast. It was good going till I got down to Grants Pass Oregon and cut over toward the coast. The road at that time was all two lanes and just wound down through the gullies and around the trees. It really got windy once you got in to the red woods forest. They didn’t log those trees out for the highway...they build the road around them.. with a high center of gravity in the trailer if you laid into a corner a little fast you could look in the mirror and scare your self when you could see day light between the tires and the road and feel the trailer slam back down on the road . it only took a bout one of those to get your attention. ahh yes live and learn This is what the trailer looks like when you go around a corner / \ scary
