True Sabbath Observance Is An Acknowledgement Of God As Our Creator And The One Who Makes Us Holy Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them. (Eze. 20:12) Take My Life - https://youtube/watch?v=eiCD6a6SVzA There is no shadow of doubt in the scriptures that God is creator of this universe. There is no way that all the intricate things in this world could be kept together without the aid of some supernatural being. Satan would have us believe that things came into existence without the help of God. But on the authority of the word of God, the Bible said, “In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth.” If Satan can get mankind to either not believe that God exist or to not believe that Heaven and Earth was created by Him, then mankind will not have any reason to believe what the Lord said in Eze. 20:12 – “Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.” This morning the Lord wants to remind us of His everlasting love for us. When Adam sins God implemented a plan of redemption. This plan was executed by the Creator to restore the image of God in mankind. During this week, the Lord reminded us that Sabbath observance is a constant reminder to mankind that God is the one who will restore His image in us. God is the one who will make us Holy. Its not our attendance at church on Sabbath that will make us Holy. Our attendance is an acknowledgement that we have accepted that God is the source of our sanctification. If we do not follow the steps outlined by God, then His death on the cross of Calvary will have no positive effect on our lives. We must surrender every area of our lives to the total control of the Holy Spirit so that the transformation that is required can be done. I pray that we will continue to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not to lean unto our own understanding. Its is our constant reliance on SELF that continues to get us unto trouble. We focus so much on being the head and not the tail that we totally forget that its all about God. I pray that we will continue to lean on the everlasting arms of God so that He can take us safely into the paths of righteousness and make us Holy. Jesus did not come into the world to lessen the dignity of the law, but to exalt it. The Jews had perverted it by their traditions and misconceptions. They had made it a yoke of bondage. Their meaningless exactions and requirements had become a by-word among all other nations. Especially was the Sabbath hedged in by all manner of senseless restrictions which made that holy day almost unendurable. A Jew was not allowed to kindle a fire upon the Sabbath, nor even to light a candle on that day. The views of the people were so narrow that they had become slaves to their own useless regulations. As a consequence, they were dependent upon the Gentiles to do many services which their rules forbade them to do for themselves. They did not reflect that if these necessary duties of life were sins they were full as guilty in employing others to perform them as in doing them themselves. They thought salvation was restricted to the Jews, and the condition of all others, being entirely hopeless, could neither be improved nor made worse. But a just God has given no commandment which cannot be consistently kept by all. His laws sanction no meaningless usages nor clumsy restrictions. (Pamphlet: Redemption: or the Miracles of Christ, the Mighty, pg. 23, 24 – Ellen G. White) Christ did not come to change the Sabbath of the fourth commandment. He did not come to lessen the law of God in one particular. He came to express in His own person the love of God. He came to vindicate every precept of the holy law.
