True Story - Last night I’m doing my floor exercise laying on a fulcrum, reaching my arms repeatedly over my head, and my cat, YinYang, keeps running by brushing against my hands as they reach for the floor. I’m annoyed, so I scold her. Then, I notice that maybe she is after something, and sure enough, I arise and see she has a mouse cornered and hiding under a chair. I lift the chair, Mickey runs quickly for new cover as the cat swats and misses, and I yell the equivalent of EEK! The mouse runs into my walk-in closet, the cat following close behind, but again, the clever little rascal hides again, this time behind the laundry basket. I closed the closet door and went looking for a weapon, but what? The best I could come up with was a metal dustpan, nice and heavy should I get a clear whack, which is unlikely, since I keep hopping around in fear. I open the door, move the basket, and as is my tendency when exited by a threatening critter, I emit war cries. The mouse cowers in the corner, and the cat, terrified by my war cries, turns and looks at me, completely ignoring Mickey. I yell, “Get him - there - there!” as I point with the dustpan. YinYang , traumatized by my yells, simply wants out fast and so runs for it. I’m left with the mouse. Mickey smartly makes a lateral move to a small dresser in the closet, and unless I move the dresser without my cat protector, I will be one-on-one with the mouse. Wisely, I closed the closet door, and after a little unwinding, fell asleep. The closet door is now open upstairs, YinYang is snugly ensconced in her box on my printer, and I’m trusting that Mickey will wise up and scram before I set traps. What a night!
