True Story: A few weeks ago I was structuring a business deal. One of my business associates pulled me to the side. He said, Skinner, dont get upset, but when you left the room someone referred to you as a nigger. Specifically, they said, Who does this nigger think he is to dictate our terms? Dont worry we all jumped on him and defended you. I dont want you to feel bad. I smiled, then adjusted my suit to make sure my cuff links were shining and responded, I have never had an inferiority complex and for that reason people think Im cocky or over the top sometimes. I appreciate you guys defending me, but I control my feelings. No one can make me feel anything. But I must ask you, do you think Warren Buffet or Bill Gates gets upset when someone calls them a cracker? How about Carlos Slim, do you think he gets offended when someone calls him a wetback? He nodded no. I continued, It is hard to demean a person of means. Now, if they wanted me to lose control of the deal and then called me a nigger, we would have a problem. Because that is just oppressive. Right now, this just passive aggression taking its course. With that said, never worry about name calling, when you control the play calling. Thats just human nature. But lets keep it real, we all know who are the real niggers are at the table. My business associate smiled and said, This is why I love you. I smiled and said, No worries. I still need to know who said it because Im taking away more points from him. You know niggas hold grudges. #PUSH
