True Story: I have been restless with a personal struggle and God knows the burden upon my heart right now. I have tried to be faithful and patient, but I remain human. Being human means that I am weak, broken and sometimes arrogant in my own pursuits. So I am sitting in my office; actually in a brief moment of reflection when I receive an email from one of my professors with this song attached. All he said was, listening to this and thought of you. Two things with this simple statement: we are reminded that we are never alone; even when we think we are. Our struggles are sometimes the burden God places upon anothers heart in time of prayer. Second, God presents us with a song, a relationship or a message when we need it most. It serves as a gentle reminder that He is always present with us. We may have to struggle temporarily and suffer through circumstances to see the greater vision God has for us. We may have to weather the storm to be reminded of the lighthouse that guides us to shore.... OR we may have to take that risk that we have been afraid of and move forward with faith alone. I am moved by the simple gesture and felt compelled to share this experience. It is a living testimony to what God can do in our lives through others. Sometimes a simple song with a poignant message is all that is needed to let someone know you care. I thank this professor for thinking of me and taking time to send this song to me. I am comforted knowing that God does remain with me; I just need to trust more freely in Him. I would encourage anyone taking time to read this to offer the same kindness and compassion that I was offered today to someone who may need to be reminded that their is someone who cares.
