True Story from a few days back: Mom had been contracting for 2 days between 4-8 minutes apart with NO progression or pattern in contractions. She had been up and had no sleep and therefore no rest. Although early, I came to their house in the early morning hours of the third day. My intuition told me that baby is not in correct position. Less than 5 minutes after the application of essential oils, baby turned and baby was born less than 3 hours later! This is what the dad wrote me today: Thank you again, we are sooooooooooo grateful that you were able to help Bethany through the labor, otherwise he wouldve been born on Tuesday, and probably by C-section. Doulas are NOT a waste of money; hire one with integrity, honor her and be part of the lucky who will never know how it could have been otherwise. Doulas are not necessary for one to have a great birth, but they sure can influence one to be!!!
