True Success Read Matthew 22:34-40 Encouragement for the day – “Jesus said to him, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37 NKJV A lot of firefighters want to be successful in the fire service. Some firefighters standard of success is measured by how good a firefighter they are based on their performance at emergencies. Others, judge their success by the rank that they hold, or the department they serve in. There are first responders who say they are successful if they have a big following on the teaching circuit or their business is making profits within the fire world. The young first responders view success based on the number of folks following them on the social media arena. The Bible has a totally different definition of success. True success in life is to know God and to love Him with everything you have. We should love God with all of our heart, and with all of our soul, and with our entire mind just like Jesus taught His disciples in Matthew chapter 22. God is the one who has given us eternal life, who loves us so much He sent His Son to pay the penalty for our sins. Why would we not want to love Him? True success is knowing God and obeying His will for our life. The more we know Him, the more we will love Him and the truth of His Word. Are you successful within the fire service? You can start by knowing God. Lord, help me to know you, and to know your truth the Bible. Encouragement, pass it on!!
