True love is a system and series of important compromises along the way. True lovers actually do control certain aspects of each other, by limiting their individual cravings, relationships with others outside the coupling, and personal interests, respectively, over the years so that their own love can remain unifying, cherished, protected and strong. All within time. Dedicated true love makes it through all of those years without doubt and without failure. Once the reality of mutual goals becomes accepted very early on, at the start - then all of the baggage that comes along with that must become accepted as well, even if yet unknown, however boring or horrible. If any of that becomes a problem and is abandoned for temporal selfish desires, then the winds of limbo roar - and there is no more certainty as to what shall remain. Not everything is a fable or a fairy tale or a happiness. But our decisions have ramifications and bring meaning no matter what.
