True to form, the Democrat controlled Senate refused to act to help our nations veterans. Once again Harry Reid has made a bipartisan, House-passed bill disappear into his drawer. H.R. 4031, the Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act, which passed the House by a clear and bipartisan mandate vote of 390-33, would give embattled Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki the power to fire executives who fail to perform their duties, which he is currently unable to do. The Senate must stop playing petty politics and act to protect our veterans.
