Trunk fat is the first to go! And this goes regardless of whether you lift weights, do cardio or combine both for 60 minutes 3x/week for 5 months, ladies. Thats at least what the results of recent study from Portugal are telling us. For the experiment, [f]orty-five overweight and pre-menopausal women were randomized in either AT, RT or AT+RT. All training groups exercised for the same duration (60 minutes), 3 times/wk for 5 months. Body composition was estimated using dual energy x-ray absorptiometry. And just like the overall fat loss effect (-4.6±1.9kg; -3.8±2.6kg and -4.7±3.0kg in AT, RT, and AT+RT groups respectively; P
