Trust in global affairs - Just a dream? First Global Diplomacy Lab in Berlin, 13. - 16. November 2014 What should diplomacy look like in the future? Which competences do we need in order to better identify our scope of action? These constantly evolving questions offer new challenges in a more globalized and multipolar society. To face those challenges thirty-two founding members of the Global Diplomacy Lab gather in Berlin from 13 -16 November 2014, together with Ruprecht Polenz, The Global Diplomacy Labs Dean and former Chairman of the German Bundestag s Committee on Foreign Affairs. Under the patronage of Federal Foreign Minister Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the Global Diplomacy Lab was initiated in 2014 by the Federal Foreign Office in partnership with the BMW Stiftung Herbert Quandt, the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Stiftung Mercator to create a platform for interdisciplinary and cross-sectorial exchange and to evolve a more inclusive diplomacy beyond traditional political measures and instruments.
