In the spiritual barrenness and blindness of the world, then and now, God filled this up by His love by giving a person, His Son, Jesus for all of us; same as the life of the children of God at the time of Samson’s birth: time when the Lord delivered the children of God to the Phillistines because of Israel’s sin and rebellion – evil deeds in the sight of the Lord when the cycle of sin, bondage, repentance, deliverance, blessing, and sin again continued. The story of the first Christmas includes the life of Manoah of Zorah and his wife, who bore Samson and Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth, who bore St. John the Baptist, who paved the way for, by proclaiming, the coming of Jesus, the Messiah, though they were two wives who were both barren and childless, they bore their respective sons consecrated by the Lord in their wombs. THANK YOU LORD.I wish today that, with God’s will, I would be able to spend the next remaining years of my life in servitude of Him as my adventure through and through in this lifetime and beyond, here I would like to request everyone of you to join me in this “devotional exercise” I learned from Mr. David McCasland: Read aloud 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and substitute the word “Jesus” for “love” For you and me, it will seem so natural to say, “Jesus suffers long and is kind; Jesus does not envy; Jesus does not parade Himself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek His own. . . Jesus never fails.” Then read the passage aloud again and say “each of our name,” I say “my name” and you say your “own name”, instead of “Jesus” We should not laugh even if we feel it would be so untrue of us. “Bendy does not seek his own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, Bendy never fails.” For myself, this exercise caused me to ask, “How am I hindering God from expressing His love through me?” Do I think that other expressions of faith are more important? Paul declared from God’s perspective, eloquent speech, deep spiritual understanding, lavish generosity, and self sacrifice are worthless when not accompanied by love (vv. 1-3) God longs to express His great heart of love for others through us. When we give God enjoyment, our own hearts are filled with joy! My mother loved to Cook for me. Even when I went to college in Manila, she will find time to visit me and cook incredible feasts. One of her great pleasures in life was watching us kids enjoy what she prepared. The more we enjoyed eating it, the more enjoyment it gave her. But we also enjoyed pleasing our mother by expressing our enjoyment of her meal. It worked both ways. As I would eat the great meal, I would rave about it and praise my mother. I intended not only to enjoy the food, but to please my mother. Everyone was happy. Worship works both ways, too. We enjoyed what God has done for us, and when we express that enjoyment to God, it brings him joy – but it also increases our joy.
