Truth Moment... I didnt believe for one millisecond that there was even going to be an indictment. The system is extremely flawed on all levels. When you have police gunning down people in cold blood because they feel threatened and they dont have to answer for it, theres something wrong. When you have a Milton Hall case that the Justice Department doesnt even pick up and theres all types of evidence of excessive force present, theres something wrong. When you have to retry someone who was callous enough to leave a murder scene and order a damn pizza, theres something wrong. When a police dogs life is deemed more valuable than a human beings, theres something wrong. And when a man in New York is shot down dead in his own apartment building, unarmed, by the same police whose presence in said neighborhood is to deter crime but theres little to no media coverage of the incident (because this man was in no way, shape, form, or fashion committing a crime), theres something wrong... Then you have Rudy Giuliani who was an official elected by the people doing an interview and speaking in you people tones... And whats the protest that my beautiful Black brothers and sisters want to unite in? The people who are cut from the cloths of Marcus Garvey, Huey Newton, Malcolm X, Angela Davis, Joseph Cinque, and Nat Turner? Were gonna protest Black Friday and Cyber Monday in November to protest the death of a young Black man killed in August. We should have started withholding our dollars once his murder became common knowledge. Mike Brown was dead and receiving no justice when we purchased our turkeys and trimmings... Weve got to educate ourselves and our children. We have got to arm ourselves in every sense of the word. Weve got to lean on our leaders to do something other than march and hold vigils. We have got to come together because when theres no justice, theres still just us.
