Truth Without Sugar Acts 8:4-8…With the scattering of the followers of Christ we have only Stephen and Philip, the first two mentioned back in (chapter 6:5) that are noted but that does not meant that the others were not being used. There are many times where some will be noted and others will not be noted for their works in the Christian life but that does not mean that they are missed or ignored by the Lord (Hebrews 6:10-11). We need to work every day as unto the Lord, for if we look for the notoriety of men our service is done unto ourselves and worldly praise and not for glory of Christ. These men were working for the Lord and His gospel, they moved beyond the fear and took a step of faith because of what they already knew was true in their lives and the lives of others. Once fear leaves us we become a more willing participant to the work of the Lord. Here is a little free-be for you from (verse 5). All Jews always understood that going to Jerusalem was always “Going up to” and if you were going any other place you were “Going down to” such and such city. So Philip went down to Samaria, which was actually north of Jerusalem. So there ya have it. (One of those good useless facts haha). Also notable is that Philip was called the first evangelist (Acts 21:8). The choice of Samaria? Point being, Samaria represented a good “Half-way” point between the Jewish people and the Gentiles, so what a good place to start. The Samaritans were used many times in scriptures when Jesus spoke. The Good Samaritan was used to show who had done right to the man beaten on the road in (Luke 10:25-37), the ten lepers were Samaritans in (Luke 17:11-19), the woman at the well was a Samaritan in (John 4:1-26) the Pharisees even accused Jesus as being a Samaritan in (John 8:48) all good stories to read. So why not go to them first, Jesus always did. The take-away point here is that these men, and women I’m sure, went out, took a stand, and “spoke of this Life” And the people were listening! Let the Lord lead you because if He prepares you and you accept His words and speak them there will be “much rejoicing” in the cities, in the office cubical, the neighborhood etc. etc. You can do the same where you work and live all you have to do is just give it a try. Good point to remember, there is no such action as blind faith for the Christian. Stepping out in FAITH is centered on the point of known and accepted knowledge in the Bible because you KNOW God is there so there is no “blind faith” for the Christian. Blind faith is a worldly adaptation of the biblical faith that we Christians know, but it is worldly faith not Biblical faith. LikeLike · · Promote · Share
