Try to Be Good One Not to Be Topper::: Your child is unable to be taught, he seems to be backward”, a teacher said to a mother. You don’t know how to teach, I shall myself teach my child”, mother replied.Before the age of 10 the same child was reading the books which students study at universities. The child was Thomas Edison who is famous for his inventions.Interesting thing is that the school which could not teach Edison unfortunately could not creat a mind like as of edison’s. Today our institutes are creating minds which can only memorize things but not understand.Each institute tries to create topper. Bill gates was not topper of his college but he is bossing many toppers today. Our institutes provide quality education on banners,in advertisements etc, but sorry to say that we don’t know what is education of quality. We just make students learn by heart something. We could’t find out the ability of creativity in them because we are all the participants of race to become toppe just by “ratta”. To comprehend something doesn’t require topper but a thirsty mind. Writing an essay,passages of four to five pages donot ensure that you have the knowledge of grammar, it is only test of your memory that how good you can memorize. After matriculation most of us are unable to translate simple sentence into English even sometimes toppers also. So what’s the use of being such a topper. We study just to have good marks not to have good understanding. In science subjects we just learn concepts,principles and some rules till final exams. After passing exams we can’t understand the applications of those concepts because we never try to comprehend those, we only test the memorizing power that how much can we store in our minds just to be topper. In short we should study on the basis of good understanding not to be topper. It is a fact that in practical life the good one is successful but a topper could be. The topper is at extreme level of memorizing but a good one is at the extreme level of good comprehension. Practical life does’t require topper, it requires good educated people. So we must come out the situation of “ratta”. We should study on the base of understanding not on the base of memorizing.
