Trying to figure out if my son truly has PANDAS. One practitioner says he doesnt, another says he does. He is 5 with HF ASD. His strep titers were considered within normal limits, but he has 4+ Alpha and Beta Haemolytic Strep in his stool. He also has had strep multiple times in the past 2 years and had his tonsils removed last Feb. He since has had strep recently, 3 positive rapid strep tests (with symptoms of fever and lethargy) in the past 6 weeks. HIs OCD issues have seemed more severe, but Ive been told he is a mild case. I however, am at the end of my rope with his horrible behavior, inappropriate laughter, meltdowns, stims, tics, teeth grinding, the list goes on... I know it sounds like classic PANDAS, but can you have it with those lab results? Also, the practitioner is putting him on compounded Zithromax, Diflucan and Nystatin for 1 month which we will start tomorrow. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
