TuBshvat Celebration Time Change The New Year of the Trees, or - TopicsExpress

TuBshvat Celebration Time Change The New Year of the Trees, or TuBshvat, is when Jews give thanks for the gifts of the trees and of agriculture in general. We are reminded to give thanks for all the blessings of sustenance that the Holy One has given us. Looking at the trees in their dormant state, we remember that soon we will begin to see the first signs of new life, which are the harbingers of spring. All are welcome to join us in a child-friendly service to honor the trees from 11 am-noon on Jan. 19 at Temple Israel, 27 Pierce St., Greenfield. Please bring some cut up fruits or nuts to share.
