Tuan at Monkey World Tuan came from the Pingtung Rescue Centre in Taiwan in 2002. He is thought to have been born around 1987. He was an ex-pet who had been captured after three days on the run. He seems to be quite a hit with the ladies, not only fathering babies but also hanging out with them, in this picture RoRo is sticking her head between his flanges which Ive seen her do on more than one occasion and they just sit there for minutes at a time, Lucky used to hang off him like a large orangutan backpack and when Hsiao Lan was moved back in with him you could practically here her whispering Come and get me. A few months ago they were going in for supper and we were at the viewing window, he stopped, looked us up and down with a Hello ladies! look and then went on his way :) I always wonder how many cities in the world would have allowed him to be on the loose without killing him and Im grateful to the Taiwanese authorities.
