Tuesday - Preparing for departure! With our Out Date set for tomorrow... I kept using it as the carrot to keep Jim going... I would say Last time, for occupational therapy, last time for physical therapy, last speech therapy. He is SO ready to be home! The whole family is ready! Ryan came with Kyle to pick up the first load of stuff to bring home... He brought fresh clothes and asked if he could get dinner for us. As I talked to Kyle, big tears ran down his cheeks... I opened the door to hug and comfort him... Last night away sweetie. Tomorrow everyone will be home. The home equipment is ordered; though we already know their Hospital Bed is too short for his 66 stature - sorry you can only be 62. As we have done this whole weird voyage - we will make it work. I asked Ryan about the Green Mini Van... It was still parked at our house when he had to go pick up Kyle from the bus and visit us... I hope they get it moving before the Hospital Bed is delivered tomorrow. What have I learned from this whole experience? That you dont truly appreciate your family until you are faced with losing them forever... That being a grown up and choosing how you spend your precious time is really a gift... (not allowed while you are a patient). And finally though not as important as the other two... REM sleep is worth my weight in gold... I am going to let Jim sleep as LONG as he needs... With NO 3 am vitals. Be well dear friends, may your Wednesday have you longing for home and family and know it is just around the corner.
