Tuesday 13 1pm (60mins); £5/£4 Ages PG AURORA ENGINE - THE ROAD TO MORDOR Pianist/harpist Debbie Shaw (‘Aurora Engine’) uses harps, effects pedals and piano in folktinged songs, topped with gutsy or angelic vocals - with a hint of Geordie. Her epic journey has taken her from County Durham through Japan, Europe, Scandinavia and the Middle East. Often compared with Bjork, Regina Spektor, Radiohead, Imogen Heap, Kate Bush, Pulp and James Blake, expect dramatic arpeggiated runs, thumping chords balanced with soaring anthemic melodies, and gentle lullaby-esque arrangements. 2.30pm (60mins) £7/6 SWEET, SOUR AND SAUCY One grand piano. Two glorious voices. Classic jazz and blues. This Australian duo, fronted by dynamic singer Melissa Western, recreates the chemistry of great duets like Ella and Louis with sweet, sour and saucy songs. Quality music, hysterical tangents and an intimate atmosphere. Western’s previous shows have been heralded as ‘Absolutely brilliant’ ***** (ThreeWeeks), ‘On fire’ **** (Scotsman), ‘Frisky and cool’ **** (Three Weeks), ‘Wicked jazz and blues’ (Australian Stage), and ‘Rich, powerful vocals’ (New Adelaide Theatre). 4pm (60mins); £10/£7 Ages PG TRADITIONAL PIANO MUSIC FROM SCOTLAND AND IRELAND Accomplished Edinburgh-based pianist Mary McCarthy plays beautifully crafted traditional melodies. This is the only recent solo piano recording of the Gaelic and Irish traditions that I can recommend without hesitation’. 5.30pm (60mins); £6/£5 Ages PG THE WEEGIES HAVE STOLEN THE ONE O’CLOCK GUN!
