Tuesday 20th January 2015 :: Team Nathan FC VI. 1-2 . TPM Southwest FC. 6 Aside. Not going to lie pretty disappointed about this loss to be honest boys, we were the better team, had more chances, were all over them and it was our chance of a 2nd win and to look a bit better in this league as we know we should, after the weekends and Mondays good result we should have been looking at a third win on the trot and go into the game against the Tubbie’s game Thursday confident but we let ourselves down and we can use what excuses we want about Ref having to referee two games so not seeing four at least two clear cut penalty’s we should have had let alone numerous slides and constant free-kicks, there is that but at same time as all that we played better made many more chances that I lost count of and reduced them to playing long ball football, at points in the second half they were celebrating clearing the ball for kick-ins and we should of took advantage of that but today despite being the better team, Phil won’t deny a goalkeeping error in first-half allowed for a long range effort from their only good player to sneak in, on any other day Phil would laugh at that kind of effort today just wasn’t his day as a few minutes later they took advantage of a defensive error and struck again, when Callum usually most composed lost control of the ball but I say defensive error as Luke trusting Callum’s composure too much had moved forward and should have been waiting to cover had already ran forward, the same player, their only player took advantage and put another past Phil at near-post which he would normally save, Monday he would of made shot look tame, one thing I will credit Phil for as I moaned about him for it last week is fact he didn’t drop his head which in-turn encouraged rest of the team to keep their head and keep going, he was very vocal and confident although only having a few more saves to make all game he made them look easy and made attacks from throw-outs, Mark, Brad and Ross should have all done more with the attacks but watched shots go just wide or a not very good goalie have his best game of the season and it went to half-time 0-2. Second-Half. It started with Nathan’s boys going straight at TPM full throttle attack from kick-off and it was simply down to their keeper or our lack of finishing that it wasn’t 2-2 in minutes but it wasn’t and Mark decided to take Luke off for Tyler to add extra goal threat Tyler instantly with his first few touches made himself known and brought Nathan’s boys back in the game, a typical Tyler goal picking ball up with class touch and just right off central of goal on right made half a yard on his man and shot with right foot to far corner and it was 1-2, great goal. I’ve not mentioned TPM up till now and that’s because all they did before our goal at our end was two shots, one went over and Phil made other look simple, from there on in we were all over them, the whole game was played in their half and all they did was put all five man at the back, parked the bus, gave us corners and kick-ins or just cleared it with long balls. We all every single one of us had chances to attack Mark had one shot in-winging from left hand side which keeper saved well, he then moved back into defense but was still constantly creating chances for Tyler, Brad and Ross running up and down so quick you would think he was Jayden, the man so good gets a mention when he isn’t here. Callum even fired one from just over half-way which was a good effort but just off target after Brad picked him out from a corner, on target it was a goal, just not to be. Luke had an effort before he went off too from a Mark corner he caught it at near-post and just tried to use pace of ball, had that been on target it was goal but it went over, Ross, Tyler and Bradley all had numerous chances to not just equalize but take the lead, even the ref said the last 7 minutes he did watch of our game he can’t believe we didn’t equal up proceedings and then run away with it but it just wasn’t to be and we know better than anyone else in football I believe that you just have to take it on the chin dust yourself off and move on, would have been nice to have third win on the trot since Worle Days but that’s football, they played Stoke tactics and it worked for them. The biggest disappointment really is we have played six in this league now and being fair and un-bias we should be looking at 3 wins a draw and 2 losses, the only two losses should have been against Innox and the Ganjamen but instead were looking down barrel at 5 losses and 1 win with our next fixture coming against the tough pultney classic team so we got to get focused and fix-up and improve our next fixtures rapidly. I’ll probably never figure out how we didn’t take the win in this win but their goalie is their man of the match, he even got a kick to the head when Mark went for a Brad rebound and parking the bus long balls won’t always work at least we know we got more to our game TPM were see you again, I do really enjoy this league and know we can do better. Oh and Nathan my boy were be banging it and challenging for title for you soon my son so Daddy can add another trophy your collection in your room………….. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS, even the ref said we were the better club but as Ross got slid out twice in box no ball contact plus 6 aside no slides, Mark got pushed over in back in box ball not even near him yet and Brad got fouled in box too, so would of rather he watched our game to be honest but hey once again Soccersixes mess ups and I think I will have to tag them in this maybe we should ask for a four pointer next time as Southside did. Individually and as a team we all played a strong game, Phil was a class skipper after the error made few good stops he had too after the two and even ventured out on pitch taking on a couple players and playing a great cross field pass to Mark, created attacks from goal and was impressive and confident throughout, not as superb as Monday but I personally think he had a great performance. Luke got down on himself after the game but I personally believed he played well too, breaking up play, making interceptions and encouraging his team-mates, coming forward and attacking, nearly getting on score-sheet and linking with team-mates well, was very strong throughout and had a good game, developing more and more that shows in-fact he criticizes himself when he feels he didn’t do best. Callum as always composed and brilliant, there was obviously the one error but apart from that he was excellent throughout stopping them getting past him in a midfield position not allowing them to even get close enough to get shots off, playing good passes which made attacks out to team-mates on wings as well as comfortable safe passes back to Phil, nearly getting on score-sheet himself from long range and played very strong and confident throughout, always down for the cause. Ross played a controlling attackers game, going at them from midfield linking well with his team-mates and always willing to receive ball back, made great runs on the end of some good passes and had some good efforts, was unlucky not to score and get points for the team, was strong and never afraid in a challenge and made things happen for the team, as like everyone else didn’t he didn’t deserve to be on losing side how he didn’t score though I’ll never know. Mark played out of his skin for the full game not stopping for breath at all, keeping the team active up and down the pitch non-stop keeping his team moving and playing good passes that set up attacks and got back and intercepted balls, broke up play and was confident and strong throughout like the rest of the squad, found space all over, played some great passes and never stopped, disappointed with the loss and personally feels he could have done better but just his pace and work-rate means he put in a very good shift. Bradley was very strong and put in an inspired show once again, moving all over the pitch, defending and attacking everywhere one good bit of skill could make us go from defense to attack in seconds, he made some brilliant runs to get on the end of some class passes and very very unlucky not to score a few tonight, linked well with everyone and was fearless going forward and coming back, when he finds the scoring boots again I’m sure Team Nathan will be battling hard in this league. Tyler last but far from least in a great scoring form at the moment continued that with another lovely finish and worked hard to try and produce a 2nd, linking well with everyone in attack and even coming forward and putting in a shift, passed well, ran well and really worked hard today, unlucky not to bag a equalizer and his 2nd today and once again touch sublime, once we learn to play to his strengths how he is ours he will be as already is a very vital part to this Team. All of this hard work couldn’t prevent a loss today.!! #MISSYOUALWAYSNATHAN
