The former vice president who is aspiring for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was in Jigawa over the weekend. The two were in the same camp when Atiku was in the PDP and were part of the leaders of the G7 governors that formed the New PDP, but Lamido remained in the PDP when his other colleagues in the New PDP defected to the APC. Lamido was expected to run against President Goodluck Jonathan for the presidential ticket of the PDP but he withdrew when Jonathan was adopted as the sole candidate of the PDP. Before the commencement of the meeting at Lamido’s private residence, security details attached to the former Vice President ordered press men out of the venue explaining that the visit was private. A reliable source who pleaded for anonymity told Daily Trust that their meeting was in connection with 2015 election. Atiku said that he would not give up on his bid to become the president of this country now or in the future. He said he was determined to continue to vie for the office of President if he lost the present bid until he eventually scaled through in the near future. Atiku who earlier met with APC delegates to the presidential primaries said he was confident on his chances of winning the primary election adding, though, that he is ready to support whoever emerges to ensure victory for the APC at the 2015 presidential election. The former vice president condemned the invasion of APC data office in Lagos by security operatives adding that the action showed the desperation of the ruling party ahead of the 2015 elections. back to top Facebook Disqus POLITICS Ortom, Umanah set to leave PDP Why I’m contesting against Jonathan – Tafawa-Balewa Growing resistance for Aliyu’s anointed candidate Protest heightened by suspicion that Pwajok is related to Jang Plateau PDP receives Dariye, Tallen, 61 others Olejeme restates commitment to job creation PDP will lose Niger if... - Aspirants Yobe PDP youths want minister to revive party Why I’m determined to stop PDP from fielding Jonathan - Ardo 2015: Atiku in closed door meeting with Lamido Kano APC officials abandon offices for Government House Taraba: Suntai’s men set to confront Umar for PDP ticket PDP clears Yuguda to contest for Senate APC warns FG to leave Amaechi alone Patience excuses self as Jonathan’s meets with Dickson PrevNextPage:1 / 3 AGRICULTURE EDUCATION ENVIRONMENT HEALTH HOME FRONT IT WORLD LABOUR LAW PROPERTY ISLAMIC FORUM WOMEN ENTERPRENEURS InternationalLettersVideosPhotosAdvertisePollNews IndepthFor The RecordTop StoriesEmail Media Trust Limited (C) 2013
