The monsoon low is expected to deepen over the next few days and possibly move westwards through the Coral Sea, though some uncertainty exists with its movement. Forecasts from Tuesday are highly dependent on the development and movement of this system. A large high over southeastern Australia will move slowly east over the Tasman Sea during the forecast period, extending a firm ridge along the east Queensland coast to the south of the monsoon trough.
