Tuesday 2nd July ~ KEEP PUSHING Jul. 2, 2013 “And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging”. (Mark 10 vs 46). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. It is remarkably noteworthy that while Bartimaeus was considered a blind man, he didn’t sit at home waiting for someone else to help him. He went out to the highway and begged. He went out to the highway and made efforts to get a daily stipend. What happened to him did not shut him up. He lived with a disability, but he didn’t allow his disability to confine him to a spot. He made demands out of life. He had no sight to see the way to the highway, but somehow through a dint of hardwork and resilience, he got there and he got his miracle there. He pushed against the tides of life and got a resounding result. Friend, glean a lesson from Bartimaeus: Keep making demands from life. Keep making efforts irrespective of whatever disadvantage or disability that wants to keep you at a spot. The vision of Bartimaeus failed but he had his voice; and he used it maximally. Keep pushing! If life takes your ‘vision’, you still have a ‘voice’. Don’t concentrate on what is not there, use what you have remaining. As you work with what you have, it will bring back what was lost: the voice of Bartimaeus brought back his vision as he shouted for help from Jesus! Will you just sit and cry over what’s missing? Will you go around and complain about those who walked away? Look deep inside, there is still something you have. USE IT! WHAT YOU CURRENTLY HAVE WILL BRING BACK WHAT IS MISSING! Keep Pushing; Don’t ever stop Pressing; one day you will Prevail! Pray with me, “Lord, I choose to keep pushing forward; may I prevail in Jesus name”.
