Tuesday 4th February 2014. STOP PRESS. Dramatic developments. The doctor has just been to see me this morning and told me that my white cell count is now down to 3! This is apparently a strong indication that I am continuing to respond well to the treatment and they have decided to SEND ME HOME THIS AFTERNOON!!!! I will be required to attend the Ambulatory Care Unit on a daily basis where I will be given my chemo and treatment and be monitored daily. I must also monitor my temperature at home and if there is any sign of fever or other symptoms then I must come back in immediately. I will continue like this until I become neutropenic then I will be re-admitted as at that point I will be highly susceptible to infection. They have also told me that at my first outpatient appointment tomorrow I will have a spinal injection of chemo in to the fluid surrounding the spinal chord and brain - can hardly wait! Anyway, great news, means I can begin to lead a slightly more normal existence and at least spend nights in my own bed. Thank you all again for your support, love and encouragement.
