Tuesday 9th December 2014:: Team Nathan FC VI. 0-1. Culverhay Classics. 6aside. With so many chances going agonizingly wide or saved by the keeper this one is quite hard to swallow, even taking a goal-less draw would have been so much better than losing to a last minute goal, even worse again they only had 5 players, never the less it was a good 5 players that obviously play together an awful lot, just from knowing exactly where they will play ball and it wasn’t as though they out-played us with 5 men, we really had them on the ropes and had tons of chances just didn’t take them and wasn’t as clinical as we hoped we could be. Jayden, Mark and Bradley left to rue chances they should have finished off and ended the game and the Classics must be very happy that they did enough to hold us out right till the end and capitalize on a mistake right at the end to keep Nathan’s boys still searching for their first win, never the less there were many positives to take from this game again. We started and played all the way through with the same six, Matty in goal, Luke and Callum at back then Mark, Jay Brad alternated on who was last man and who was the two dropping back and helping the defense, it was working really well, Matty made some brilliant saves all throughout the game to keep it at 0-0, with Callum playing as hard as he always does making strong challenges and staying composed enough to look for the pass and using his body to shield ball against some very big skillful lads, he was a rock at the back, never afraid, always uses his composure to worry attackers and after having a bad challenge played that strong half injured for most the game and that made it easy for Luke Rangers own personal battering ram to play strong and try to use his power a little further up field than normal which worked very well, playing good passes and breaking up the play very well, if he had to use power and give away a free kick he would but done in a clever way so not to put the team in trouble, even coming forward and shooting again he looks so comfortable here in this league and a great addition to the team. Jayden was a magician as normal the only thing that lacked from his game tonight was a goal which he then criticized himself for which in my opinion there was no need for, you have to work hard to get in those positions and you have to try and take the shots for them to go wrong, obviously every player wants to take their shots and knock them down but sometimes it doesn’t happen and that was Jay’s bad luck today, never the less he defended well, as well as attacking well, linking play with Brad and Mark so well putting them through on goal also, was a work horse all-round the field, brilliant game Jay I wish you could of kept up scoring form too but either way that isn’t just down to you, great talent great game. Bradley was such a great Team player knowing he is still nursing a injury, he dropped back into midfield a lot more, using strength to break up play and make tackles then would look to set Mark or Jay free, had a couple chances himself but we were all missing our scoring shoes tonight, never the less he was making some great challenges and never afraid to offer himself up for the ball, or even to go for it when it was out of his reach against some much bigger guys, always brave even when could risk making injury worse, would like Jay criticize himself for not scoring on chance he had but he linked so well with Mark and Jay if one holds it upon themselves for not scoring, then all three players must take responsibility for the lack of goals today, there was definitely no lack of energy or heart and Brad was a start at the forefront of that. Mark played the full game and is really trying to get back to the fitness levels he was at a long time ago, it will take time and training for him to get it but if he keeps focused it will come, that showed tonight as he was offering himself up for any pass, even roll outs from goalie, looked for lots of long balls as well as clever short passes and sneaky through balls but his play un-like Monday wasn’t just about assisting tonight he had three good efforts on goal too, just like Jay, two wide, one was accurate but keeper was equal to it, never the less a good game was strong and never afraid to go in for a challenge and did a lot of running not letting himself rest. All of this hard-work turned out to be meaning-less when they scored there last minute goal, it was a terrible way to lose all points late on but hey that’s football and that happens, it’s more and more positive every week and I’m so happy with all the progression, I know Team Nathan’s win will be coming very very soon, we should have had it tonight, it was simply a case of us not taking the many chances we had and they took one of the not as many as us that they did and that was game set and match, never the less great game well contested and I’m happy with the team, just no one had scoring boots on tonight, well done lads, onwards and upwards.!! #MISSYOUALWAYSNATHAN. Friendly. 6aside. Team Nathan FC VI. 1-3. Bathelona. Same night, straight after.!! As Super 6 were absent from proceedings Team Nathan stepped up to face the Team we lost 2-1 too, on our first ever outing last week, yeah we lost 1-3 this time but then again, Callum was in goal and knew he could of saved two, Mark, Matty, Jay and Luke could of all scored but it wasn’t to be, Brad did get our one and could of probably had three in this game but it wasn’t to be we didn’t take it over seriously as it was a friendly, personally I think that is a team in this league we can beat if we play as well as we did today when we play them. Quick shout to Matty who’s long balls to Mark, link up play with Jay and Brad and good running showed why he is a asset wherever he is played on the pitch, well done man and well done to everyone involved, slowly but surely it’s all coming together, Bathelona had the two points ere anyway so fair play were see you again soon, well done to all six for running the whole game and to Phil and Shaniece for managing and supporting too. #MISSYOUALWAYSNATHAN
