Tuesday, August 26 Yes to Christ, No to the World For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age. Titus 2:11-12 Recommended Reading Titus 2:11-15 The same grace that brings us salvation gives strength to live biblically in this age. We need grace-based living, but that can only happen as we focus our thoughts on Gods Word and live it out. A study by the Evangelical Alliance found that many Christians struggle with making time for prayer and Bible study. Sixty percent of those born before 1960 said they read their Bibles daily; only 31 percent of younger Christians did the same. As Christians, were to live a different lifestyle than the world by loving God and loving others. As we grow in grace, we should understand Gods Word more, respect others, care for the poor, tend to the widows, and keep ourselves unspotted by the world. Pastor Tony Evans wrote, Grace-based Christians obey because its their delight ... To grace-based Christians, the spiritual life is the lifting of a burden.1 The same grace that helps us say Yes to Christ helps us say No to the world. The Bible is not only a book of divine revelation; it is also a book of literary grandeur, sublime influence, human interest, amazing accuracy, perfect unity, and everlasting challenge. J.
