Tuesday December 9th and Harrison has officially put in 15 days of therapy here at The Shepherd Center....The pictures and videos just do not do his progress justice. During Harrisons medical conference today, we werent surprised to hear Harrisons lead Dr. tell us just how incredibly well Harrison is doing. Giving the severity of his traumatic brain injury, he is way ahead of what would be expected. As of today, Harrisons discharge date still remains on December 31st but his Dr. Told us if Harrison continues at this pace in the next week.... That date will be moved up. 😃 Harrison still has the wires but they will be removed tomorrow am however, rubber bands will be placed until next week. This wasnt what we really wanted to hear but his fracture on both side of his mandible are not completely healed. Until then Harrison WILL be able to start eating soft foods.... He is so happy! The trach will remain in place until his mouth is free of the arch bars and rubber bands. Harrisons spirit hasnt wavered in the least bit! Yes he will tell us 100 times a day that the trach and wires are the worst. But it doesnt keep him from smiling and being his usual happy self!
