Tuesday Evening Update on Randy: July 15th. Well, weve had four - TopicsExpress

Tuesday Evening Update on Randy: July 15th. Well, weve had four days at home...and Im very satisfied with Randys progress. He is sleeping great (can you imagine how that felt after five weeks ??), his appetite and food intake is much improved, and his movement is steadily increasing. Today, he actually took several steps without the walker!! Hes lifting some light weights to try to strengthen his arms and I get him to prime the meds for me. I have to consolidate the antibiotic and the solution, and you do this by squeezing and releasing the bag of fluid. I could do it, but when I told him it would help his grip for a gold club, he gladly took over!! So, I am seeing more and more of his personality! Welcome home indeed!! Clinically: his labs from yesterday revealed continual and steady improvement! We were shouting the praises for that!! Hes been four days since his independence from hospital support and Id say hes holding his own! We did not need to go to the cancer center here today, since the home health care nurse took labs yesterday. So, next appointment should be July 20th in Birmingham. As I said earlier, we have been told to plan on a five day stay. Hence, our prayer needs for now are focused on staying healthy, continuing to eat and move, and one more biggie: We prayed this morning for The Lord to let this next cup pass from us. Then we prayed for only The Lord to have His way...not ours. We based our request on Scripture: that we can come boldly to the Throne of Grace...that He is able to save to the uttermost...that we have not because we ask not. And so many more encouraging verses that give us permission to just ask. We would ask you prayer warriors to join us. We are asking for a miracle again. That Tuesdays appointment would indicate such improvement that our expected plan could be altered. Even if we must endure another round of the chemo, wouldnt it be wonderful to hear that this may do it!??? I know some of you may think this is impossible...but that word means nothing to us. Now. Not anymore. We know that He is able!! But, dont miss the most important part of our prayer---we do not want anything but The Lord to have His way. We know Hes sovereign. And we are good with that. One of my favorite scenes in the book of Daniel is when Daniel says, but, if not... But if we are not delivered from the fiery furnace, let it be known we will serve The Lord! And you know the rest of the story. There was a Fourth Man in the furnace...like the Son of God! So...we are not trying to escape this path. But we will ask, with boldness, for it to take a different turn. But, if not...we know we are not alone!! Gnight from Woodbank!
