Tuesday, First day of a short week signifying the end of summer vacation. Many schools started the "New School year" with the halls filled with laughter, poking, hugging, and glares at the "new kids." Groups with new shoes, socks, accessorized with the latest fashions compare the stores and price tags to be "IN" with the correct "herd" so they can identify. Moms and Dads are left by the curb, or the end of the driveway as they wave a cheerful unsteady wave of concernment or untold relief, only time will tell. Summer is over, back to reality, loading, unloading at the school drop off inside the yellow lines. We sit and watch as the last glimpse of our children vanish into the cavern our taxes build to educate and create acceptably educated citizens to carry on the tradition. We survived, now for a little " Me time," as soon as I load the washing machine, take the dog for a walk, mow the lawn,....... Sumer, what a great invention! Hugs and more hugs to all the Moms and Dads, you need em, summer is gone, but the love hangs around for years.
