Tuesday January 20th, declared public holiday Acting President Guy Scott has declared Tuesday, 20th January, 2015, as a public holiday. Dr. Scott said the declaration of the holiday is to allow voters to cast their votes in their respective polling stations throughout the country. The declaration is in accordance with statutory instrument No. 1 of 2015 under the Public Holidays Act Volume 15 cap 272 of the laws of Zambia. Acting President said this in a press statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka issued by Secretary to the Cabinet, Dr. Roland Msiska. “Acting President Guy Scott has declared 20th January, 2015, the day of holding presidential election as a public holiday. “The public holiday has been declared is in accordance with statutory instrument No. 1 of 2015 under the Public Holidays Act Volume 15 Cap 272 of the laws of Zambia,” Dr. Msiska said. Zambians would next week on Tuesday cast their votes to elect a leader of their choice to govern the country. There are the 11 presidential candidates in the race to state house.
