Tuesday, July 2nd: 13th week of the year – Gn 19/15-29; Mt 8/23-27 They say that curiosity killed the cat. Lot’s wife could not resist looking back at dying Sodom and Gomorrah and became a pillar of salt. So many different ways to disobey the Lord’s commands. He is all merciful, but we should not play around with his directives. Just as Moses doubted that a rock could yield water and struck it twice, so we want to increase our trust and confidence in the Lord’s instructions. That is why we repeat in the Responsorial Psalm, O Lord, your mercy is before my eyes. How often we find ourselves in a rough sea of life, seemingly threatened by storms and feel like we are going under. Jesus reminds us once again, “Why are you terrified, o you of little faith?” Today renew your trust and confidence in the Lord; He is always with us and watching over us. Fr.
