Tuesday Lunchtime Jukebox Part 1...So, 2 of my favorite artists - TopicsExpress

Tuesday Lunchtime Jukebox Part 1...So, 2 of my favorite artists are the Drive-By Truckers and Jason Isbell, which are separate but the same, because one came from the other. Between the lot of them there are stacks of great, great songs that will still be playing in my own personal jukebox 20 years from now. That said, not much if any of it ever sees the light of day on mainstream radio. They are both big on Outlaw Country on Sirius, but thats it. Both have loyal fan bases, and both have sustained a living doing what they love to do, which is make great music. But aint nobody getting rich, and these guys have wives and families to support. They have little kids that want to go to college and have fancy weddings just like the rest of us. When opportunity knocks...you answer. So last night before the national championship game, Zac Brown covered one of Jason Isbells songs from his DBT days...Dress Blues. That was very cool. He was very happy about it on social media. His fans lambasted him as a sell out. Dude, if ZAC BROWN wants to cover YOUR song, you say yes. Hell yes. On the same day, the Drive-By Truckers, who have toured for 2 decades around every crap hole venue in America repeatedly, to earn that needed money for which I spoke of, were added to part of the summer of tour of superstar, Eric Church. Thats a HUGE deal for them. Their fans lambasted them as sell outs on social media. Again, if Eric Church says to come on and play on his tour, you say, Point me to the tour bus. Im proud of both them. They are all musical treasures of the Southern United States, and they very much deserve notice outside of their misery-loves-company fan bases. So heres a great DBT classic song, and on the next post, Ill put an Isbell song. Maybe country music is finally turning around. https://youtube/watch?v=-Q-Ma6UlrtA
