Tuesday March 18th 1986 the Jubilee 150 flagship ‘Falie’ visited Kingston. Thousands of people from Kingston and many other SE towns were on the beach to welcome the sailing ship. Members of the sailing club sailed out to to meet the ‘Falie’ . it was a perfect day, no wind and mild sunshine. People crowded the jetty hoping to get a ride on a fishing boat out to the sailing ship and go aboard. There was a street parade of bullock teams, vintage cars, the West End Clydesdales and numerous horse drawn vehicles. The SA Police Band entertained the crowd estimated to be 10,000.
