Tuesday, March 4, 2014 GOD’S BROKEN HEART The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. So the Lord was sorry that he had ever made and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. Genesis 6:5-6 The Lord loves his creation and the only part of his creation that could identify with him and have a relationship with him was man. Man could love God back. God wanted man to love Him, worship Him and obey Him. As time passed after creation, man grew farther and farther away from God, until finally man didn’t even know God anymore. Sin was rampant. Man did whatever he wanted and it was all bad. God saw all of this. He made man and He loved man and man had turned his back on God. Man rejected God. It broke God’s heart. He was sorry that He had ever made them. A child would have to be extremely bad before his father would be sorry that he was ever born. A child who rebels against fatherly discipline has little chance of a good life. At that time man was consistently and totally evil. The Lord looks down even now. He sees all mankind. Will what He see break His heart? I do believe that the Kingdom of God is advancing. The Lord will see many believers who will warm His heart. May we never bring grief to our loving Father’s heart. Heavenly Father, we love you and worship you and will be obedient to you. We never want to bring grief to you. Thank you for the closeness we can share with you. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
