Tuesday Night Talk - Tala Mai.... can you help in this situation? Does love conquer all? See below. Dear NIU, A few weeks ago, my family went overseas for a family reunion. This was the first time our NZ family have been over and it was awesome to meet so many family from all over the world in one spot, not to mention getting away from the cold weather. Im 22 and admittedly, Ive only ever had one girlfriend and we broke up because she was a bit too experienced for my liking. I believe in waiting until marriage and I will. I got talking to a girl at our reunion who is a native of the place we had it at. We share the same thoughts on things and began having a strong attraction for each other. We kissed and it felt so right and magic. To be in an exotic place, to hear her accent and her liking mine was the best thing ever. Well it was until we discovered that we are 2nd cousins. Our parents share the same grandparents so it shocked us both. We decided to leave it as it is and just remain friends or cousins I suppose, however, after coming back home and emailing, Skyping etc its clear to both of us that we are really attracted to each other and want to be together. Im scared of the fall out and how people on both sides of our family would react? Does anyone have any ideas? Should we just keep it secret? In love and falling harder. Post up your comments here (please be sensible), or email your thoughts to niunites@niufm, TEXT to 3123, put the word NITES in first, leave a space and then your say or call the studio to discuss after 9 PM (NZST) on 0800 223 103. Thank you. :)
