Tuesday, November 4: When Dane’s accident happened, he weighed - TopicsExpress

Tuesday, November 4: When Dane’s accident happened, he weighed right at 97 pounds. He was muscular for a 5th grader. In the days following, he lost about 12 pounds. It has been his goal to gain his weight back and reach 100 pounds. He grew 3 inches while he was in the hospital this summer, which is amazing. He has been eating so well and seems hungry all the time. (boys!) So tonight after supper, he weighed and for the first time he weighed 100.2! He was so excited. He worked at it daily to meet his goal. I see him getting stronger and more coordinated daily. Tomorrow I will take the wheelchair back to the hospital, It has sat in our garage since the day we came home. He has never ever sat in it. I am so thankful not to have needed it. Dane continues to “Gain” in so many ways. I am humbled and grateful for each step and for his return to the life of the vibrant boy I know and cherish. But I am equally as proud of his desire to walk with the Lord. He even at a young age, considers his actions. What a lesson to learn from an 11 year old. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36 Each of us choose to gain or choose to lose things in our lives. May we all strive to gain a life that shows Jesus to an unbelieving world. Glory to God………..Sunday’s coming……………
