Tuesday, October 21, 2014 “…brings forth out of his treasure things both old and new” –Matthew 12:35 Good Morning Heavenly Father, Family & Friends!! (*) Yesterday’s Discovered Treasure for Today: “Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own . . . I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward . . . So let those [of us] who are spiritually mature and full-grown have this mind and hold these convictions; and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also” (Philippians 3:12-15 Amplified Bible). (*) Today’s Application: Our highly valued Scriptural treasure this morning captures the heart of the well-known and often quoted Apostle Paul. It now provides us with a discovery of at five faceted jewel of information in avoiding spiritual burnout in our lives. First of all, we are to accept our liabilities, whether welcomed or in some cases forced upon us with regret. We must realize and accept our human imperfections. Otherwise, the enemy of our souls, Satan, will use them to dominate our vision and eventually blind us to our potential with Christ and God’s Spirit at our side and in our hearts leading us on to greater heights. Second of all, we are never to become complacent, feeling that we have finally arrived at our greatest potential. We must keep an open-ended life and dream that the best is yet to come. It is imperative that we always be willing to learn for a self-satisfied attitude of blind contentment will always hold us from greater possibilities whether it be spiritual, emotional or in the area of our physical abilities. Third, dont live in the past! Leave the past behind, only to learn from it! It is dangerous to live in our past failures or successes as both can teach us wisdom but they can hinder us also from progressing on in our opportunities for today. Fourth, give today our best efforts. A successful Christ-follower uses today wisely. Looking back at yesterday or worrying about tomorrow only wastes time that cannot be retained again. We must make today our most important opportunity to glorify God in our decisions. Last, we are to set a ourselves a lifetime goal. Most goals are worthy but we should be investing our lives in those golden opportunities only that please our Heavenly Father and in turn releases His immeasurable blessings upon ourselves and the lives of our families. These priceless principles, if followed, will save us all from spiritual burnout and lead us to a productive and more fulfilled life in Christ., that is always found pleasing to our Creator. 0;-)
