Now the Tigers have a chance to seal a tournament spot and eliminate any possibility of drama on Senior Day with at least a point against Framingham (6-8). The Flyers are in need of a win if they hope to keep their tournament hopes alive. The match starts at 3:45 PM on Tiger Drive Field. Against Weymouth (0-4), GIRL’S SWIM & DIVE (8-1) will look to do something it hasn’t had to do this season; rebound from a loss. The Tigers picked up their first defeat at Needham last week and will look to take some of their frustration out against a struggling Wildcat side. The meet starts at 3:45 PM at the Newton North Pool. You couldn’t script it much better; a must win game, on Senior Day, versus your bitter rival. BOY’S SOCCER (4-7-4) will take on Brookline (9-3-3), knowing nothing less than a win will keep their tournament hopes alive. Senior captain Stanley Alves, North’s leading scorer, will look to provide offensive spark for a team that has scored only two goals in its last four games. The Tigers were featured in a full page article in the Metro West section of Sunday’s Boston Globe, just the latest outlet to praise a side on the trail of some of the best teams in school history. North will take on a Brookline (2-11-1) side that has had a season to forget. However, much would be forgiven if the Warriors pulled off the upset of their highly praised rival, so the Tigers should be wary. Kick-off at 4:00 PM at Brookline High School. So often, the Carey Division has come down to a battle between North and Brookline. This year is no different. GIRL’S VOLLEYBALL (11-3) travels to face Brookline (12-0) with the division title on the line. While the Warriors did give the Tigers their only Bay State Conference loss of the season, North has played a rigorous non-conference schedule and will look to use the experience gained from those games against a team that has not played a match out of conference this year.
