Tuesday, September 22 We’ve got a busy schedule planned for today at the American Corner! 16:30 – 18:00 Film screening of “Disruption” followed by discussion This past Sunday, more than 30,000 people marched through the streets of New York City (as well as in 166 countries worldwide) as part of the People’s Climate March 2014, largest climate change demonstration in history organized just in time for today’s U.N. Climate Summit hosted by U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon. Join us in the American Corner today at 4:30 to watch “Disruption,” a new documentary featuring some of the environmental movement’s top leaders and hear their calls for a new strategy to address the climate crisis: a public movement and uprising that forces world leaders to replace rhetoric with action. Disruption seeks to answer a fundamental question: When it comes to climate change, why do we do so little when we know so much? The movie lays bare the science, the broken political process, the industry special interests and the civic disengagement that have brought us to this crossroads.
