* * * Tuesday Thought - Please Pause to Remember * * * I have had the opportunity to personally know a few survivors from Auschwitz. One in particular was a very special Lady who prepared one meal a week for my Companion and I while I served my Mission. I swear she would spend her entire Social Security check on food, then cook all day just for the two of us - she would never eat with us, just kept filling our plates. She, like all but one of the Survivors I know actually tried to conceal her tattooed prisoner number so nobody could see it. I was amazed at how they seemed to be ashamed by the horrific history in their lives, after all, they had done nothing Wrong whatsoever - but still, she kept it hidden from view at all cost, only sharing it with two of us after a long conversation about the events. Today marks 70 Years from the Liberation of Auschwitz - I dont see many posts about it and think wed be better served remembering such a Horrific Event if we are to avoid it happening again! In a strange twist, many of the Survivors who spoke at todays event clearly sounded the Alarm - that they had witnessed many of the same Signs and Failures in Society we see today just a short time before they were rounded up and placed in camps decades ago. Live Consciously - Love Unconditionally - Remember Past Atrocities so they cannot be repeated! ~ Aloha Marc
