Tuesday a friend of mine and I went to downtown Fortworth and handed out sandwiches, water, crackers, some toiletries, clothing and some home made scarfs. The scarfs went extremely quickly. We would love to keep doing this hopefully once a week. If some of you would like to donate things to go straight into the hands of our local homeless I will follow with a list bellow. Things that are needed are: Toiletries: Tooth brushes Tooth paste Baby Wipes Deodorant Hair care items Razors (safety blades preferred) Qtips First aid items Also the small hotel shampoo is wonderful Female items (pads and tampons) Food: Canned goods with easy open lids Granola bars Saltine crackers (They feel you up fast) Bottle water Snack Bars Trail Mix Nuts Fruit (Banana’s were a big hit!) Anything individually wrapped is good Clothing: SOCKS SOCKS SOCKS! Men’s clothing Lady’s clothing We were asked for interview clothing quiet a bit. Shoes Scarfs Gloves Coats and jackets Other Items: Blankets Plastic bags (like walmart bags) Dog food backpacks Things that will help us: Zip lock baggies Bread Lunch meat Yarn (to make scarfs) Rubber gloves Plastic spoons and forks rubber maid tubs Any donations are greatly appreciated!
