Tuesday evening! Shadow Yoga Part 2: Balakrama with Matt Schwartz, 7:00—8:30pm. Balakrama: Stepping Into Strength. The second in a four-part Shadow Yoga series with Matt Schwartz, Balakrama is a demanding fixed sequence that focuses directly on the body’s skeletal and muscular systems, actively engaging the center or navel region. The practice builds internal heat, physical strength and proper bone alignment. The Balakrama form develops power and endurance in both body and mind while regulating the breath to develop unobstructed rhythm of the pranic force. The results are the cultivation of lightness, strength, flexibility and integration—all of which are prerequisites to asana practice. Students new to Shadow Yoga are welcome.
