Tuesday, the 30th of December became the first day of the rest of my life. Most of you have heard, that I drove to the hospital following a check up with my favorite Primary Care Physician on the 24th. Between he and my cardiologist it was determined that I needed to go straight to the hospital, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00. I entered STPH and after two days of laying in a medicated sedated state began to receive two new bypasses and a new heart valve. All of my life I have known my body was not made right. Who has the mumps 9 times in the 5th grade? As a child I had reumatic fever, leaving a very small, very damaged heart valve. Today, I was transferred from CCU to the 3rd floor, where I will fully begin my recovery. I have a long road ahead and until today I was afraid my drs were not listenting as I was losing the strength in my right leg which is swollen 100 times what it normally look like. However, my God is an awesome God and this is another journey that God will carry me through. Thank you to staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospital, you have shown me that there are still amazing people in this world. To friends and family, your prayers, visits, food have allowed my children to stay at the hospital around the clock. Promise me that you will take care of yourself and each other. Life isnt always easy, but there is always someone who could use a friend. Till next time. I love you!!!
